System Heat Rise Estimator
Estimate the oil temperature rise in a hydraulic reservoir caused by system power losses.

Rough natural-convection estimate. Add a cooler if oil exceeds ~65°C.
How It Works
The difference between input (shaft) and output (useful) power becomes heat in the hydraulic fluid. Without adequate cooling, this heat raises the oil temperature, which degrades viscosity and component life.
As a rule of thumb, hydraulic oil should be kept below ~65°C. If your estimate exceeds this, consider a larger tank or an oil cooler.
